Pocono Raceway Will Host The Nascar Cup Series On June 1 2024 Replacing Nashville Superspeedway

Superspeedway GM ‘elated’ with June 1 NASCAR Cup date

Pocono Raceway will host the NASCAR Cup Series on June 1, 2024, replacing Nashville Superspeedway.

Pocono Raceway general manager Nick Igdalsky called the move "an honor" and said he is "elated" to welcome the Cup Series back to the track.

The 2.5-mile triangular track has hosted the Cup Series since 1974, but lost its second date in 2023 when NASCAR awarded a race to Nashville Superspeedway.

The move was met with some criticism from fans and drivers, who argued that Pocono was a more deserving track to host a Cup race.

Igdalsky said he understands the fans' disappointment, but he is confident that Pocono will put on a great race in June.

"We're going to make sure that this race is one that the fans will remember for years to come," Igdalsky said.

The June 1 race will be the first Cup Series race at Pocono since July 2022.

The track will also host the NASCAR Xfinity Series on June 2 and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series on June 3.

Tickets for all three races are now on sale.
